Maiden flight of my 41" Parkzone Extra 300
I picked this old Parkzone Extra 300 up for $65 from Facebook Market Place. After going to the Sky Ranch Fliers "RC Fun Fly" in West Bend WI. I seen some big, amazing 3D planes and pilots at that show. So I figured what the hell. $65 for what I would consider a 3D trainer plane to toss around in the air is a good deal.

This is the first flight since crashing it last year. It went very well. I need to practice a lot with landing and learning the flight capabilities of this plane (i.e. slow flight).

This EDF sport jet is sooooooo fun!!!! Very easy to fly. The takeoffs are very smooth and landing...she glides in very sweet. Not fast but an easy flier as far as EDFs go.

Well, it was flying great until I took my eyes off of it for a second while in a bank turn to see how close I was coming to a tree and that's all it took to loose orientation.

4th or 5th time flying my Pink Foam Piper Cub. This time with a 10 inch prop and 3D printed vortex generators. It seems It did not like the big ass prop or the vortex generators. I will switch back to the prop I had on the last flight and see if that helps.

It looks funny but they work. LOL I looked up the size of prop I needed for my motor, and it is 2 niches short total (an inch on each end). That could be why I lose controllability at lower speeds. Not enough air going over the control surfaces.

This flight was to try out mid rates on the control surfaces. This EDF sport jet is amazing! So fun to fly!!! I want to put a bigger battery in for longer flight times. I would recommend this EDF jet to anyone just getting into EDF's. Providing you put a receiver in that has a GYRO and SAFE mode.

    Men i totally understand how you felt when that bird is so high and fast and the landing is probably the most exciting and nerve recking for me. I bought one and did not maiden flight it bcos i like to get really comfortable flying it on the sim and it was touchy even then. • @crookedtool
      @crookedtool 10 місяців тому

      Yeah, that would certainly make banking easier. It might be possible, with your transmitter, to use the flaps as ailerons also. So when you turn on the flaps, they both deflect downward, but they still function as ailerons also. "Flaperons" is the term. Perhaps you could physically link the ailerons to the flaps, then you'd only need to focus on setting up flaperons.
